Stretching between the provinces of Brescia, Trento, and Verona, Lake Garda (or Benaco) is Italy’s largest lake, covering approximately 370 km². Its mild, temperate climate has fostered Mediterranean vegetation—where olive groves and vineyards have flourished since antiquity—alongside citrus groves of oranges, lemons, citrons, and bergamots. Inhabited since the Iron Age, its shores have hosted Ligurians, Veneti, Insubres, Etruscans, and Gauls.

Praised by writers and poets across the ages—from the Latin poet Catullus, whose family owned a villa in Sirmione, to Dante Alighieri, Goethe, Ugo Foscolo, Lord Byron, and Stendhal, and later Carducci, D’Annunzio, Ezra Pound, and Franz Kafka—Lake Garda is arguably one of the best places to live in Italy. It offers an enviable combination of pure air, year-round mild weather, and lush vegetation, framed by towering mountains and rolling green hills.

It is in this extraordinary setting that Spazio Verde designed and created the gardens for a residential settlement. The botanical intervention focused on a selection of flowering shrubs and bushes to ensure a four-season bloom, alongside majestic specimen olive trees from Garda and Spain.

Regarding irrigation, we installed a high-efficiency automated system using premium RainBird® components, featuring artesian wells and storage systems with underground tanks, all designed for maximum automation and significant water and energy savings.

The lighting design utilizes low-energy LED technology, featuring recessed spotlights for plants and flowerbeds, as well as path lights for pedestrian and vehicular walkways. Furthermore, we designed and built six infinity-edge pools within the park, featuring chlorine filtration systems and furnished with customized PVC loungers and sunbeds.

Finally, as most of the gardens are situated on structural slabs—categorized as roof gardens—we managed all specialized technical works, including waterproofing, wastewater drainage materials, and lightweight growing substrates.

The result? Divine gardens, where one can feel the wind on their face and the warm sun on their hand.
