Art can rightly be defined as the spiritual activity through which man expresses his inner world in works of beauty. A fervent example is liuteria—the ancient art of designing, building, and restoring stringed, bowed, and plucked instruments. This craft counts among its greatest masters Antonio Stradivari and Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù, whose violins are perhaps the most famous and prized instruments ever made, and whose workshops were hosted in the city of Cremona between the late 17th and mid-18th centuries.
It is in this very city, nestled in the green plains along the Po River, that the “tailors” of Spazio Verde undertook the renovation of a single-family villa’s garden.
The project began with the removal of unstable and hazardous trees and non-essential vegetation. This was followed by the planting of centuries-old olive trees, low-maintenance shrubs, new tall specimen trees, and fresh evergreen and flowering bushes. Additionally, a living green wall was installed.
A brand-new irrigation system was built from scratch using premium RainBird® materials, while a dramatic lighting design was implemented using low-energy LED technology.
Regarding the hardscaping, a new synthetic teak deck was created for the gazebo area—which features a new powder-coated steel gazebo with an opening roof—and the existing porphyry paving was restored. The pre-existing swimming pool was renovated by replacing the chlorine filtration system with a saltwater system, and a Jacuzzi® whirlpool was installed in the wellness area. This entire relaxation zone was furnished with chaise longues, sunbeds, sofas, and coffee tables.
The result? A garden that acts as the “treble clef” to the world of dreams.
