In southern Tuscany lies a land of rolling hills, ancient villages, and cypress-lined avenues: the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2004. Here, nature is the absolute protagonist, having inspired Renaissance painters and, more recently, served as the set for international films like The English Patient and Gladiator.
Specifically in Montalcino, Spazio Verde realized the park of a 15th-century wine estate. The botanical selection stayed true to the land: centuries-old olive trees, palms, cypresses, four-season blooms, and citrus trees housed in Impruneta terracotta pots.
We installed a high-performance Toro® irrigation system using rainwater recovery tanks, alongside a dramatic LED lighting design featuring recessed lights for trees and “spike” lights for pathways. The skimmer-style pool is bordered by Carrara Marble. The landscape was further enhanced by dry-stone walls made of tuff, offering a classic “split-stone” aesthetic. Completing the work are powder-coated wrought-iron gazebos and high-end, strictly “Made in Italy” outdoor furniture.
The result? A park that beats like the pulse of eternity, with the cycle of seasons as its heartbeat.
